Job summary

Vertas Group is recruiting a Mobile Caretaker to join our Facilities Team, covering sites across the Bassetlaw Area, DN10 4BU. The role is 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 04:00 to 07:00, year-round.

You will open and secure school premises, carry out routine maintenance, perform health and safety checks, and coordinate with contractors across multiple sites. A UK driving licence and practical DIY skills are essential; travel between sites is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a caretaker, site operative, maintenance or premises role.
• Good practical DIY and maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to travel between sites.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing school premises.
• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Undertaking health and safety inspections.
• Responding to facilities issues across multiple sites.
• Supporting site compliance and security requirements.
• Monitoring contractors and visitors when required.
• Maintaining external areas and entrances.
• Reporting maintenance issues and arranging repairs where necessary.
• Ensuring all sites remain safe, secure and compliant.

About the Role:

Pay Rate:

£13.21 per hour
