Job summary

Vertas Group is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our Facilities Team at Dunham on Trent C of E Primary School. This role is 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:00–08:00, across 43 weeks per year, combining caretaking and cleaning duties to keep the school safe and welcoming.

You will open and secure premises, perform routine health and safety checks, undertake basic maintenance, monitor the building and grounds, support contractors and visitors, and ensure cleanliness.

About the Role:

Based at Dunham on Trent C of E Primary School, NG22 0UN, you will be working 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 08:00, 43 weeks per year. This role combines 1.5 hours of caretaking duties and 0.5 hours of cleaning duties per day, ensuring the school remains safe, secure, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Opening and securing the school premises
• Carrying out routine health and safety checks
• Undertaking basic maintenance and repair tasks
• Monitoring the condition of the building and grounds
• Supporting contractors and site visitors when required
• Completing daily cleaning duties across designated areas
• Ensuring the school site remains clean, safe and welcoming
