Mobile BMS Engineer – Birmingham & Surrounding Areas (Full Time)

This is a full-time role working across diverse and exciting environments, including commercial, retail, healthcare, education, and government sites.
This position offers the chance to be at the forefront of smart building innovation—delivering Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure upgrades that not only enhance site performance but also pave the way for future IoT and smart-enabled solutions.
About the Role
As a Mobile BMS Engineer, you'll play a key part in maintaining and enhancing BMS systems across a wide range of facilities. Projects typically range in value from £10k to £1.5m and beyond, offering a unique mix of hands-on technical work and strategic influence. With significant growth plans underway, this is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a fast-scaling digital infrastructure team.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain BMS components including sensors, controllers, actuators, and software.
Perform routine maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMS systems.
Participate in a reactive call-out rota (with additional financial incentives).
Provide technical support and advice to clients on BMS performance and enhancements.
Identify improvement opportunities and quote remedial or upgrade works.
Prepare and submit proposals for BMS enhancements or new system implementations.
Skills & Qualifications
City & Guilds / BTEC / NVQ in Electrical or similar discipline.
Proven experience with BMS and HVAC systems.
Familiarity with Trend, Tridium (Niagara), Distech, or Siemens control systems.
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical schematics.
Working knowledge of IT networks and AutoCAD.
Controls-specific training and hands-on fault-finding experience in electrical panels.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to pass DBS and potentially BPSS vetting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
