Job description

Equans is seeking a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital division, covering parts of Telford and surrounding areas, on a full-time basis.

Our Digital team offers an exciting opportunity to upgrade and enhance Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure across various sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare, education, and government nationwide. These upgrades enable sites to become Smart Enabled, allowing us to introduce additional value through IoT solutions, delivering social, economic, and environmental benefits to the communities they serve.

We handle project works ranging from £10k to £1.5m, supported by a mix of in-house delivery and specialist supply chain partners. With an ambitious growth plan over the next 3-5 years, this role is crucial for shaping and expanding our team sustainably.

Key activities include:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining BMS components such as sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
• Performing maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMSs across various sites.
• Participating in a reactive call-out rota, with additional financial benefits for on-call attendance.
• Providing technical support and advice to clients regarding their BMS systems.
• Identifying opportunities for system improvements and remedial works.
• Preparing proposals and quotations for works as needed.

Skills, qualifications, and experience required:

• Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ.
• Extensive knowledge of BMS/HVAC systems.
• Experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, and Siemens systems.
• Strong understanding of the electrical industry.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
• Knowledge of IT networks.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Controls training or experience.
• Experience fault-finding in electrical panels.
• DBS clearance and potential BPSS vetting.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
