Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join our field-based team in the South of England. The role covers fault-finding, installation, and commissioning of A/C systems across sites, with a focus on reliability and client service.

The candidate should hold NVQ Level 2/3 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, a GHG/F‑Gas Category 1 qualification and a valid UK driving licence. Expect a competitive salary and ongoing professional development within a large facilities management

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent
• NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• C&G F-Gas Category 1 qualification (ODS regulations)
• Experience with chillers, VRV/VRF, AHUs, cooling towers, and BMS systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Fault-finding and repair of air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, chiller plants and controls
• Maintain and update F-Gas logbooks, refrigerant use and leak testing
• Carry out installation, pressure testing, vacuum dehydration, and commissioning of A/C systems
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractor works on site
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, including documentation
• Complete real-time job updates using CAFM systems via PDA/tablet
• Diagnose system defects, prepare quotations, liaise with contract managers and clients
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota for emergencies
• Work flexibly and maintain high standards on client sites

South of England (Field-Based)

£46,000 - £49,000 + Van and Fuel Card

Brief

Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer needed for a well-known, large Facilities Management company based in the Southeast who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of Air Conditioning, using CAFM systems, carrying out PPM's and reactive tasks, diagnostics and fault-finding works. The successful candidate would need to have the relevant qualifications - i.e. NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Air Conditioning and refrigeration, FGas Certification etc. And have a keen interest in HVAC Engineering.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer will include:

• Fault-finding and repair of air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, chiller plants, and associated controls
• Maintain and update F-Gas logbooks, ensuring accurate records of refrigerant use and leak testing
• Carry out installation, pressure testing, vacuum dehydration, and commissioning of A/C systems
• Oversee and coordinate subcontractor works on site
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including completion of all required documentation
• Complete real-time job updates using CAFM systems via PDA/tablet
• Diagnose system defects, prepare quotations, and liaise with contract managers and clients
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota to provide emergency support when needed
• Work flexibly and professionally, maintaining a high standard of presentation and communication on client sites

What experience you need to be the successful Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer:

• Recognised apprenticeship (EITB, CITB) or equivalent technical qualifications
• Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• C&G #removed# F-Gas Category 1 qualification (ODS regulations)
• Experience working with chillers, cold rooms, VRV/VRF systems, AHUs, cooling towers, and BMS systems
• Comfortable reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical schematics
• L8 Awareness (Legionella) - Desirable
• Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH/IOSH) is advantageous
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Full UK driving licence required
