MIG Welder Fabricator

Rate: £14.50 - £15.50 per hour

Location: Northampton

Working hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm & Friday 8am - 4pm (39.5 hours per week)

Overtime: Paid at an enhanced rate

Contract type: Permanent

About the role

GI Pro is recruiting for a MIG/TIG Welder Fabricator for our engineering client based in Northampton. The role offers a pay rate of £14 - £14.50 per hour, working day shifts Monday to Friday with overtime paid at enhanced rates. This is a permanent position.

About the client

The client is a specialist supplier and manufacturer of bespoke lifting equipment and general fabrications.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld and fabricate on mild steel, mostly from 3mm to 8mm thickness.
• Produce lifting equipment from standard steel stock sections and machined parts.
• Perform MIG welding (90%) and TIG welding (10%).
• Use press drills, cutting and chop saws, hand, and air tools for fabrication.
• Tack, weld, grind, and finish products.
• Conduct quality inspections.

Candidate requirements

• Ability to MIG weld and fabricate on mild steel from engineering drawings, with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
• TIG welding experience is an advantage but not essential.
