Adecco Pontoon is hiring an experienced Application Support Analyst to join a growing Application Management team in a banking environment in London. The role offers hybrid work with 2 days onsite per week and a 9-month contract with potential extension.

The successful candidate will provide production support for front-to-back office trading applications, leveraging strong SQL skills and stakeholder management to ensure stability, performance, and availability of critical systems.

Location : London (2 days per week onsite)

Contract: 9 months with possible extension.

Rate : 600 - 650 inside IR35

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to join a growing Application Management team supporting critical business and trading applications within a banking environment.

The successful candidate will provide production support for front-to-back office applications, working closely with business users, development teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure the stability, performance, and availability of business-critical systems.

This role requires strong SQL expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and previous experience supporting business users within Capital Markets, Equities, or Investment Banking environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day production support for business-critical trading and operational applications.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application, data, and system issues.
• Perform detailed SQL analysis to identify root causes of incidents and data discrepancies.
• Work closely with Front Office, Middle Office, Operations, and Technology teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Monitor application health and proactively identify potential service issues.
• Support system releases, deployments, and change management activities.
• Coordinate with development teams to ensure smooth transition of new functionality into production.
• Contribute to incident, problem, and root cause analysis processes.
• Maintain support documentation and operational procedures.
• Participate in on‑call support where required.

Essential Experience

• Application Support or Production Support experience within Banking or Financial Services.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex data investigation and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting business users and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Knowledge of Equities, Trading Systems, or Capital Markets environments.
• Experience investigating production incidents and performing root cause analysis.
• Understanding of application support processes, release management, and change control.
• Experience with monitoring and support tools.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working within Windows‑based production environments.

Desirable Experience

• Fixed Income or other asset class exposure.
• Experience supporting Front Office or Trading applications.
• Knowledge of market data platforms.
• Experience with scheduling tools such as Control‑M or Autosys.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Basic Linux exposure.
• Understanding of integration technologies and middleware platforms.
