About us

Brooke School is an all age (3-19) generic special school in Stratford upon Avon, which meets the needs of pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs. What we need

We are currently looking for Midday Supervisors to join our dedicated team to support our students during the lunch break: feeding, supervising or simply encouraging them to eat.

Main responsibilities in dining area
  • Ensure that the personal and individual care and toileting needs of pupils are met, including changing pads and associated moving/handling involved.
  • Set out and clear away dining room chairs and tables.
  • Escort pupils to and from dining areas, ensuring information is exchanged with class staff.
  • Ensure pupils are in the dining room/area at the appropriate time.
  • Help pupils at the counter, including choice of meal.
  • Assist with the proper use of cutlery and help cut food as necessary.
  • Feed pupils with severe physical difficulties as necessary, following training and the advice of other professionals.
  • Assist pupils when returning used plates, trays, cutlery, beakers, etc. and clear tables when lunch is completed.
  • Supervise pupils eating food brought from home and ensure packed lunch equipment is cleared away.
Main responsibilities in school or playground
  • Be responsible for groups of children in the playground or classrooms according to the weather. This may include pupils with challenging behaviours and with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
  • Develop and support lunchtime activities.
  • Attend to minor accidents and complete incident/accident forms.
  • Where necessary, support the nurse with the administration of medication during the lunchtime period, liaising over any healthcare concerns.
  • Attend to pupils who become ill as necessary.
  • Adhere to any behaviour management programmes devised by others.
