Job summary

E-ACT Pathways Academy in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Midday Supervisor to support pupils during lunch breaks. You will supervise dining areas, playgrounds and site spaces, promoting safe, respectful behaviour and positive play in collaboration with staff.

This role focuses on safeguarding and wellbeing, with 8 hours per week over 38 weeks per year; pay SCP4 and involvement in creating a calm, inclusive lunchtime environment.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths desirable.
  • Experience of working with children or young people in school, childcare or community settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils during lunchtime to ensure safety and wellbeing.
  • Promote positive behaviour, good manners and respectful interactions.
  • Monitor dining areas, playgrounds and school spaces for safety and order.

Are you passionate about supporting young people and creating a positive school environment? We are seeking a dedicated Midday Supervisor to join our friendly team at E-ACT Pathways Academy.

This rewarding role is vital in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour of our pupils during the lunchtime period. You will supervise pupils in dining areas, playgrounds and around the school site, encouraging positive play, good manners and respectful interactions. Working closely with teaching staff, support staff and fellow midday supervisors, you will help create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable lunchtime experience for all.

Key responsibilities:
  • Supervise pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring their safety, welfare and wellbeing at all times.
  • Promote positive behaviour, good manners and respectful interactions in line with the academy's expectations.
  • Monitor dining areas, playgrounds and other school spaces, maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
  • Encourage inclusive and positive play activities, supporting pupils to engage appropriately with others.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff and fellow midday supervisors to provide effective supervision and support for pupils.

Pay range: SCP4 - £4,820.53 - FTE: £26,016.00 - 8 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths desirable).
  • Experience of working with children or young people in a school, childcare or community setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Ability to promote positive behaviour, manage minor incidents calmly and act as a positive role model.
  • Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare
