Job summary

E-ACT Royton and Crompton Academy is seeking a committed Cover Supervisor to provide high-quality classroom supervision during a teacher's maternity absence, ensuring continuity of learning and a positive learning environment.

You will build strong relationships with students, promote high expectations, and support learning across a range of subjects while upholding excellent behaviour standards. The role offers a defined pay scale and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) and a Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience supervising children in a school environment and supporting a range of learning needs.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lessons during teacher absence, ensuring students remain engaged with set work.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support students’ learning, encouraging participation, independence and inclusion.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff on learning and behaviour.
  • Assist with student supervision and contribute to the wider life of the academy

Pay range: SCP 12-17 - £25,982.89 - £28,185.21 - FTE: £29,542.00 - £32,046.00 - 37 Hours, 39 Weeks - Maternity Cover

Qualifications and Skills:

GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) and a Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA qualification or equivalent.
Experience of supervising children in a school environment and supporting a range of learning needs.
Strong classroom management skills with the ability to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Confidence using ICT and a good understanding of how children learn and develop
