Job summary

Join E-ACT Shenley Academy as a Cover Supervisor to support pupils and maintain a calm, productive learning environment. You will build positive relationships and help deliver a high-quality learning experience.

The role offers 32.5 hours per week over 39 weeks per year, with SCP 17–21 (£24,741.09–£26,432.65) and full-time equivalent up to £34,237.00. Commitment to safeguarding and excellence is essential.

Qualifications

  • GCSE level education with English and Maths; relevant experience desirable.
  • Strong classroom management to supervise whole classes effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents.
  • Organised, adaptable and able to work independently following lesson plans calmly.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising pupils undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the Academy's policy under guidance of teaching staff.
  • Establishing productive working relationships with students and maintaining high expectations.
  • Monitoring and evaluating students' responses to learning activities and providing feedback/reports.
  • Encouraging students to interact and work co-operatively with others.
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning activities.

We are seeking a confident, organised, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Cover Supervisor. Key responsibilities
  • Supervising pupils undertaking work that has been set in accordance with the Academy's policy, under the guidance of teaching/senior staff.
  • Establishing productive working relationships with students, promoting positive values/attitudes and setting high expectations
  • Monitoring and evaluation of students' responses to learning activities through observation and recording of achievement and providing feedback/reports as required
  • Encourage students to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all students in activities
  • Effective use of ICT to support learning activities and develop students' competence and independent use.

Pay range:

SCP 17 - 21 £24,741.09 - £26,432.65 (FTE: £32,046.00 - £34,237.00)

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics; relevant experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to supervise whole classes, maintain a positive learning environment, and manage behaviour effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to work independently, following lesson plans and responding calmly and professionally to changing situations within a school environment.
