University of Glasgow invites applications for a role assisting in Microbiology and Molecular Biology teaching for Postgraduate Taught/Masters students. You will demonstrate lab techniques, guide practical exercises, and provide detailed explanations linking activities to course outcomes.

The role supports full-time students and contributes to sessions planned by the Head of School. You will help ensure a welcoming environment for diverse learners, maintain safety, and contribute to student

Competenze

• A1. Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 10 (Honours Degree) in subject specialism or equivalent.
• A2. Expert knowledge of relevant subject/class/session.
• A3. Awareness of learning outcomes of course.
• A4. Awareness of health and safety risks in microbiology labs.

Mansioni

• Demonstrate in labs in Microbiology and Molecular Biology techniques and answer questions with detailed explanations.
• Assist students with practical exercises, calculations, data recording and analysis.
• Create a welcoming environment for students from diverse backgrounds to enhance learning.
• Maintain health and safety by identifying risks and raising concerns to the course organiser.
• Provide short talks and demonstrations at the start of each lab and brief a group of up to 16 students.
• Assist in marking student tests using defined criteria.
• Provide factual feedback to students and course organiser.
• Ensure equipment and materials for demonstrations are prepared before sessions.
• Engage in continuing professional development activities.
• Undertake other duties as required by Head of School.
• Contribute to international profile in line with World Changers Together.
