Job summary

ALS Limited in Trowbridge, United Kingdom, is seeking a meticulous Microbiologist to join its laboratory team. The role focuses on microbiological testing, plate counting, identification and confirmation, with strict adherence to documented methods and safety standards.

Responsibilities include timely result entry, stock monitoring, and contributing to training while maintaining ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017 compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (9–4 or A*-C) including Science, English and Mathematics.
• Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of microbiology across methods.
• Strong written and verbal communication with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out microbiological testing including plate counting, identification and confirmation.
• Enter and approve results accurately, meeting client and method deadlines.
• Maintain clean lab and proper waste disposal procedures.
• Monitor stock levels and request replenishment as needed.
• Deliver training on procedures in line with standard methodologies and safety rules.
