Job summary

ALS in Carlisle is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to support the daily running of a busy microbiology team. You will ensure samples are processed accurately and efficiently, adhering to quality and health & safety standards.

You will perform testing, carry out QC checks and calibrations, and enter data using LIMS while meeting tight turnaround times in a collaborative, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Meticulous approach and safety-conscious
• Proficient data entry and LIMS usage
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Familiar with quality systems such as ISO 9001/17025 and COSHH

Responsibilities

• Carry out allocated testing in line with documented methods and procedures.
• Perform daily QC checks and equipment calibrations.
• Deliver testing within required turnaround times and ensure results meet specifications.
• Escalate issues impacting testing to the Shift Supervisor promptly.
