Job summary

ALS is hiring a Laboratory Technician for our Rotherham food testing laboratory. You will perform microbiological testing on food samples, weighing, diluting, and preparing them using aseptic techniques while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

The role includes operating media preparators and pourer stackers, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with colleagues in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided, with full-time, permanent status and a salary of £26,867 per year.

Qualifications

• A level or equivalent science background or relevant lab experience.
• Strong attention to detail and lab cleanliness.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on food samples using aseptic techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic workstation.
• Prepare and supplement media, conduct volume checks, operate equipment.
• Ensure safe handling of all samples and waste disposal.
