Job summary

AFI Group is seeking a hands-on MEWPS Engineer to join our national fleet support team in Wakefield. You will perform PDIs, services, LOLER inspections, repairs and manufacturer updates to keep our rental machines at peak availability.

You will also respond to breakdowns on customer sites, ensuring high-quality service and safety compliance. Working with customers and colleagues, you will document checks on a PDA and follow company procedures while prioritising tasks in a fast-paced hire

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Fault-finding/diagnostics experience.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a demanding hire environment.
• IPAF Operator licence/certification required.
• CAP licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to ensure depot maximum machine availability.
