Job summary

ACS Automotive Recruitment is seeking an experienced MET Technician for a busy accident repair centre in Dartford, Kent. The role involves removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components, plus diagnosing issues and reassembling vehicles to exacting standards.

Working hours are 7:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch and a 20-minute tea break. Overtime may be available; Saturdays are not required. ATA accreditation or manufacturer training is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous MET Technician experience in an accident repair centre or bodyshop
• Strong mechanical, electrical and vehicle trim knowledge
• Able to dismantle and reassemble vehicles accurately and safely
• Comfortable working on a range of vehicle makes and models
• Good diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Able to work independently and as part of a busy bodyshop team

MET Technician
Dartford, Kent
£20.00 to £24.00 per hour, depending on experience
Approximately £49,400 to £59,280 per annum based on contracted hours
Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm
47.5-hour working week
No Saturdays required

• Carrying out diagnostic checks where required
• Reassembling vehicles following body and paint repairs
• Ensuring vehicle systems and safety features operate correctly
• Completing work in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards
• Maintaining accurate records of completed work
• Working efficiently to meet agreed repair deadlines
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working area

The ideal candidate:

• Previous experience as an MET Technician within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
• Strong mechanical, electrical and vehicle trim knowledge
• Able to dismantle and reassemble vehicles accurately and safely
• Comfortable working on a range of vehicle makes and models
• Good diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Able to work independently and as part of a busy bodyshop team
• Relevant qualifications, ATA accreditation or manufacturer training would be advantageous

Working hours:

The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and a 20-minute paid tea break.

As the workshop opens at 6:00am, there may also be the option to work from 6:00am to 4:00pm. No Saturdays are required, although optional overtime may be available during busy periods.
