Job summary

Pure Renewables is seeking an experienced Mechanical & Piping Designer to join our expanding engineering team in the UK. You will produce detailed 2D/3D drawings for commercial heat pump installations and coordinate with engineers, project managers and site teams from concept through construction.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in mechanical or piping design, familiarity with CAD tools, and a track record in renewable energy EPC projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical or piping design.
• HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Strong AutoCAD experience.
• Experience producing mechanical installation drawings.
• Knowledge of commercial plantrooms.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience within renewable energy.
• Experience producing fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of pressure systems.
• Experience within EPC projects.
• Understanding of district heating systems.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical and piping drawings for commercial heat pump installations.
• Produce fabrication and installation drawings.
• Create pipe spool drawings where required.
• Develop support arrangements for pipework.
• Produce valve schedules and equipment schedules.
• Generate isometric drawings.
• Produce accurate drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor or Plant 3D.
• Maintain drawing registers and revision control.
• Develop coordinated mechanical models.
• Assist with BIM coordination where required.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company CAD standards.
• Work alongside Mechanical Design Engineers throughout project delivery.
• Attend internal design reviews.
• Support technical meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Respond to site queries and design changes.
• Produce as-built drawings upon project completion.
• Coordinate designs with Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Installation Teams and Commissioning Engineers.
• Ensure clashes are identified and resolved before construction.
• Prepare GA drawings, P&IDs, Isometric drawings and As-built drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with CDM Regulations and safety considerations.
