Job summary

Remedy Education are currently recruiting for a Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner / Mentor to join a specialist SEMH school in Tower Hamlets, East London. You will provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring to pupils with SEMH needs and help them regulate emotions and engage with education.

The ideal candidate will have experience in schools or similar settings, strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills, safeguarding knowledge, and a calm, patient, resilient approach.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Good safeguarding knowledge.
• Experience within a school, PRU, alternative provision, youth work, mental health or similar setting.
• Experience as a Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Support Worker, Youth Worker or Mental Health Practitioner would be highly desirable.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is preferred.

The role will involve supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them to regulate emotions, manage behaviour, build confidence and engage positively with education.

The Role

Provide 1:1 and small-group mentoring
