Job summary

IBC Healthcare in Headley Heath, West Midlands, is recruiting a Support Worker to assist adults with complex needs in our dedicated Supported living service. This full-time role offers 42 hours per week with a pay rate of £12.90 per hour, supporting people to achieve positive outcomes through person-centred care.

You will provide practical and emotional support, assist with daily tasks, and help people access community activities, while adhering to safeguarding and care plans.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with mental health conditions, complex care needs, challenging behaviours, autism or psychosis.
• A valid driving licence is essential.
• Prior caring experience in supported living is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support people with disabilities using person-centred approaches.
• Perform basic daily duties: medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and paperwork.
• Provide emotional and practical support to service users.
• Assist access to community facilities and activities.
• Build trusted relationships to promote independence and quality of life.
• Empower individuals to learn new skills or hobbies.

• Role: Support Worker
• Pay Rate: £12.90 Per Hour
• Shifts: Options of day shift or Night shift
• Full-time - 42 hours per week

Duties Include

• To support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person-centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
• Basic daily duties include medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and paperwork.
• To Provide emotional and practical support.
• To support the people in our care to access community facilities and be included in community groups.
• To build a robust relationship with the people in our care to promote independence and improve quality of life.
• To Empower the people in our care to learn new skills or pursue hobbies and interests.

Person Specifications

• Previous experience Supporting people with Mental Health Conditions, Complex Care needs, Challenging Behaviours, Autism and Psychosis
• Driving Licence Essential
• The ability to multi-task.
• Good time management, organization, attention to detail and flexibility.
• IT literate.
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude.
• Good Communication Skills.
• You must have a compassionate, caring, positive personality.
• Possess a genuine passion for making a real difference in people’s lives.
• Able to manage challenging behaviour and conflict.
• Works well as part of a team as well as individually.
