Job summary

iBC Healthcare is seeking a female Support Worker for a Residential Service in Leicester to support adults with complex needs. You will provide person-centred care, assist with daily tasks including medication, cooking, cleaning and paperwork, and help residents access community activities.

This full-time role is 33 hours per week with day shifts and a pay rate of £12.81 per hour. iBC emphasizes staff development, comprehensive training, and progression opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Experience within the care industry, ICSSs or equivalent essential.
  • IT literate and proficient with basic paperwork.
  • Good communication skills across diverse groups.

Responsibilities

  • Support people with disabilities using person-centred approaches to help achieve outcomes.
  • Carry out basic daily duties including medication administration, cooking, cleaning and paperwork.
  • Provide emotional and practical support to residents.
  • Assist residents to access community facilities and participate in groups.
  • Build strong relationships to promote independence and quality of life.
  • Encourage residents to learn new skills and pursue hobbies.

Duties Include
  • To support people with disabilities, including individuals with profound and complex needs, using person-centred approaches to enable people to achieve positive outcomes as defined in their support plan.
  • Basic daily duties include medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and paperwork.
  • To Provide emotional and practical support.
  • To support the people in our care to access community facilities and be included in community groups.
  • To build a robust relationship with the people in our care to promote independence and improve quality of life.
  • To Empower the people in our care to learn new skills or pursue hobbies and interests.
Person Specifications

You must be Female for this role

  • Experience within the care industry, ICSSs or equivalent essential
  • Previous experience Supporting people with Mental Health Conditions, Complex Care needs and Challenging Behaviours.
  • The ability to multi-task.
  • Good time management, organization, attention to detail and flexibility.
  • IT literate.
  • A positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • You must have a compassionate, caring, positive personality.
  • Possess a genuine passion for making a real difference in people’s lives.
  • Able to manage challenging behaviour and conflict.
  • Works well as part of a team as well as individually.
