Job summary

Illuminate Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Business Development Manager for a national professional membership body in engineering. The role focuses on growing membership, partnerships and stakeholder engagement, with remote work and occasional travel.

You will develop activities aligned to strategic goals, build relationships with member groups and volunteers, and represent the organisation publicly to promote membership and professional registration. Salary is £38,000 with 33 days leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development or membership development within a membership or professional body.
• Ability to design and maintain effective communication systems across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience working with and supporting volunteers.
• Confident communicator with excellent written skills and public speaking.
• Highly organised, detail‑driven, and able to manage your own workload in a small team.
• Willingness to travel within the UK.
