Job summary

Kier Group in Salford is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the MEICA team within the water and wastewater sector. You will deliver mechanical design solutions for pumping stations, treatment works and network assets, ensuring compliance with UK water industry standards and client specifications.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status with IET or IMechE, extensive experience in water/wastewater or process industries, and the ability to work collaboratively in an integrated design

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with membership of an appropriate Professional Body (IET or IMechE).
• Extensive experience in water, wastewater or process industries, including hydraulic design and pumping systems.
• Strong problem solving and decision making with understanding of SHE requirements.
• Able to interpret information, data, patterns and trends to support decisions.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical designs for pumping stations, treatment works and network assets.
• Agree mechanical design requirements from the client remit and challenge where needed.
• Support feasibility studies, outline design, production and evaluation of concepts focusing on buildability and efficiency.
• Ensure designs comply with UK water standards (WIMES), BS, Water Regulations, CDM 2015 and client specs.
