Job summary

Kier Group in Salford is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the MEICA team, delivering complex infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning within the water sector. You will specify, design and assure electrical and ICA installations, coordinating with civil, mechanical and process engineers to ensure integrated, safe and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

Chartered Engineer with membership of an appropriate Professional Body (IET or IMechE) is required.
Experience in water, wastewater or process industries including hydraulic design and pumping systems.
Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and SHE requirements.
Experience with cable design software (Amtech) and interpretation of P&IDs, SLDs and loop diagrams.
Must pass BPSS requirements.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be working within the MEICA team, delivering complex infrastructure projects from concept to commissioning.
You'll be involved in specifying, designing, reviewing and assuring electrical and ICA installations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and water industry standards.
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you'll coordinate design activities, support project delivery, and ensure safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions.
Day to day, you will agree design requirements, produce technical specs, control philosophies, panel and instrumentation schedules.
Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, reporting on safety issues and attending meetings on behalf of Kier.
