Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical Workforce Advisor – Rotas & Compliance to join the Medical Workforce team in Guildford. You will manage resident doctor rotas, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide guidance on rostering systems and exception reporting.

You will work closely with doctors, managers, rota coordinators and senior stakeholders to maintain safe staffing arrangements and support service improvement through workforce data and reporting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of resident doctor terms and conditions.
• Experience of rota design.
• Experience of using and implementing administrative systems and procedures.
• Experience of using online recruitment systems.
• Degree level or equivalent working experience at an equivalent level.
• Maths & English GCSE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining resident doctor rotas and work schedules.
• Supporting compliance with Working Time Regulations and national Terms and Conditions.
• Acting as a key contact for exception reporting and rota compliance queries.
• Providing training, guidance, and support on rostering systems and processes.
• Monitoring workforce data and producing reports to support decision-making.
• Working collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to resolve rota issues.
• Supporting service improvement initiatives and the development of innovative workforce solutions.
