Job responsibilities

- Dealing with patient queries e.g. test results
- Registering new patients following practice policy
- Removing patient records
- Managing document management and online consultations
- Accepting and logging deliveries
- Following daily reception rota
- Generating repeat prescriptions
- Familiar with EPS and online requests
- Scanning letters and patient correspondence
- Using computer as directed
- Using software packages e.g: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Liaising with hospitals; arranging ambulance transport for patients, scans or outpatient appointments
- Opening post and distributing; leaving private and confidential marked post in PM tray
- Attending meetings and courses as required
- Checking and maintaining stocks of forms and stationary
- Maintaining beverages/washing up and general tidiness of the premises
- Ensuring the practice is fully vacated and all end-of-day checks are carried out
- Receiving and checking deadlines to meet practice targets
- Photocopying, scanning and filing
- Preparing and participating in CQC inspections
- Providing secretarial support including typing
- Supporting admin team and practice manager
- Performing ad hoc duties as required
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Education to GCSE standard or equivalent
Experience
- Reception or customer service experience, booking/appointment management, administration and clerical experience, managing multiple clinics, working in a busy environment, proven time management, good interpersonal skills, team working
- Experience in a GP practice preferred
