A medical receptionist is the primary representative of our GP Practice. A medical receptionist will need to be capable of handling stressful situations at any given time in order to serve the patients. We require someone with experience who can join our team and bring with them the above skills that will enhance the care we provide to our patients. Our patients are our forefront and we them to have a positive experience when they access health care provided by the surgery. We are looking for a flexible number of hours to meet the needs of our practice and these can be discussed if successful at interview. The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The practice is a 3 GP Partner practice with a number of salaried GP's with 1 Health Care Assistant and 1 Practice Nurse.
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, be responsible for the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaise with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
