Central Lakes Medical Group in the Lake District seeks a Receptionist/Administrator to act as the first contact for patients, manage calls, and support clinical staff. Responsibilities include opening the site, ensuring security, processing mail, scanning charts, and adhering to data protection standards while supporting ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for patients arriving at the Health Centre.
  • Process confidential patient information to pass to Clinicians.
  • Open up the premises at the start of the day, check alarms and prepare to receive patients.
  • Contact patients with appointment times.
  • Monitor patients waiting to be seen and alert a professional if symptoms worsen.
  • Raise an emergency with Emergency Services if needed and seek internal help.
  • Coordinate workload to capacity and manage own tasks.
  • Carry out equipment checks and report issues to the Practice Management Team.
  • Work autonomously, refer to line manager when necessary.
  • Answer calls, divert messages, and ensure the telephone system is operational.
  • Scan and attach patient data to electronic records.
  • Pull, file, and photocopy patient paper records.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and process outgoing mail.
  • Secure premises at the end of the day and ensure alarms are activated.
  • Adhere to Cumbria Health Policies and Procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing development and training.
  • Receive deliveries and distribute accordingly.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with the Data Protection Act.
  • Undertake any other activities deemed appropriate by the organisation.
