Job summary

Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a friendly Medical HR Officer to join our Medical HR Team. You will provide specialist HR advice to medical leaders and support recruitment, onboarding, and payroll processes for doctors and resident clinicians.

You will work closely with medical staff, ensure policy compliance, maintain workforce records, and contribute to service improvements across the Trust's medical workforce, under a supportive People Services function.

Qualifications

• Experience providing medical HR advice to clinicians or in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of NHS HR policies and employment legislation is desirable.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Medical HR advice to medical leaders and staff on employment matters.
• Support sickness absence management, employee relations, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and onboarding of medical staff including residents.
• Manage medical recruitment systems and records (ESR, TRAC).
• Administer Resident Doctor rotations, work schedules, and onboarding processes.
• Produce Resident Doctor rotas and payroll information using eRota, ensuring deadlines.
• Provide specialist payroll advice including salary calculations and leave arrangements.
• Contribute to service improvement and Medical HR practices.
