Job summary

Britvic offers a four-year Engineering Apprenticeship in Northampton or Rugby, with training at MGTS Coventry and site-based learning. You will work toward a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician apprenticeship, followed by a Level 4 HNC top-up during Years 3 and 4.

Your first year is full-time college study, with Years 2–4 combining practical site work and day-release study. Year 4 may include night shifts as you move toward a permanent engineering role.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at grades 4–9 including Maths, English and a science subject.
• Aged 18+ by start of second year (August 2028) to meet on-site health and safety requirements.
• UK resident for at least 3 years by start of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Complete all college, apprenticeship and HNC learning requirements, keeping your portfolio up to date.
• Work safely at all times and follow site requirements for health, safety, food safety, quality, hygiene and environment.
• Build practical mechanical, electrical, controls and automation skills through supervised tasks and training.
• Support Engineering Technicians with planned and preventative maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and production-line breakdowns.
• Learn to use maintenance systems, recording work and parts used.
• Participate in structured problem-solving and continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Support shutdown activity, equipment inspections and upkeep of engineering standards and work areas.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and site teams, learning from colleagues.
• Be responsible for your development and respond to feedback.
