Job summary

TXM Recruit is recruiting Mechanical Technicians/ Fitters for an initial contract with an engineering company. You will carry out mechanical fitting on rolling stock and related components, on a 37-hour week, with some afternoon shifts paid at uplift.

The role starts with 3–4 months of training in Doncaster, mileage paid to the depot, then moves to a new Burton facility (Barton under Needwood, DE13). A permanent post may follow after a short period.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical experience is essential.
• Prior Rolling Stock experience is desirable but not essential.
• Must pass Medical, Drug & Alcohol screening.

Job description

Mechanical Technician/ Mechanical Fitter

This role would be suitable for: Car Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Mechanical Technician, Ex forces Engineers etc

We are looking for Mechanical Fitters on an initial contract basis to work for an engineering company in Doncaster then move to Burton.

The standard rate for this role is £24.70ph Umb/£18.20 PAYE (inside IR35) with overtime enhancements after 37 hrs. The role is expected to be Monday to Friday days predominantly with some Afternoons (paid at a 20% uplift), 37 hours per week with occasional overtime.

This will be a 3/4 Months training at Doncaster with Mileage paid for travel to this depot (30p per mile) and other enhancements.

The role will then move to a new facility being built in Barton under Needwood (Burton upon Trent, DE13 area) where there will be the opportunity to go permanent after a short while.

Person Profile/Experience:

• Prior Rolling Stock experience is Desirable but not essential
• Good Mechanical experience is essential
