Job summary

Ford & Stanley Talent Services Group is seeking a Mechanical Fitter in Doncaster to join a skilled team tasked with outfitting, overhauls and mechanical repairs on rail vehicles.

You will perform mandatory servicing and repairs, work with heavy mechanical interfaces, install, maintain and repair components, and ensure work is carried out safely and to engineering specifications within a fast-paced environment. Shifts include early and late options with training.

• Proven experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance or overhaul.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and component repair.
• Flexible and proactive approach to work.

Responsibilities

Mechanical Fitter

Salary: £36,800 rising to £39,847 after training
Early Shift: Monday to Thursday 6am - 2:15pm Friday 6am - 11:30am
Late Shift: Monday to Thursday 2pm - 10:15pm, Friday 11:30am - 5:00pm
Location: Doncaster

We are currently seekingMechanical Fittersto join a team at Doncaster This is a hands-on role focused on carrying outfitting, overhauls and associated mechanical repairson rail vehicles.

You will work as part of a skilled team, delivering high-quality mechanical work safely, efficiently and in line with engineering specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out mandatory servicing and mechanical repairs on rail vehicle systems and components.
• Understand and work effectively withvehicle mechanical interfaces.
• Install, maintain and repairheavy mechanical components
• Carry outmechanical stripping down, re‑fitting and repair work to rail vehicles.

Essential:

• Proven experience in a mechanical fitting, maintenance or overhaul environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and component repair.
• A flexible and proactive approach to work.
• Commitment to safe working practices.

Desirable:

• Previous experience within therail, automotive, plant or transferable heavy engineering industry.
• Experience working on large sub-assembly overhaul activities.
• NVQ Level 2/3
