Catfoss Recruitment Ltd - Mechanical Technician

Catfoss Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a globally respected R&D company to recruit a Mechanical Technician on a permanent basis for their expanding team.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Mechanical Technician to join the integrated Engineering Services Team. You will report to the Team Leader and be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, as well as installation and modification of the facility.

Typical Working Hours

Full time, 40 hours per week, Double Days (rotating shifts: 06:30 - 14:30 and 14:00 - 22:00)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on equipment related to the testing facility and mechanical services (planned maintenance).
• Repair plant and equipment during breakdowns, including fault-finding in accordance with supervisory instructions (reactive maintenance).
• Install new plant and equipment, adhering to supervisory instructions, and contribute ideas for design and implementation improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Follow site security procedures.
• Participate as a member of the Emergency Response team.

Requirements

• Mechanical apprenticeship or significant experience in installing, maintaining, repairing, and inspecting industrial plant equipment and systems, such as:
• High-pressure compressed air systems
• Water cooling and treatment systems
• Plant lubrication and hydraulic systems
• Mechanical machinery, including rotating and reciprocating components

• Team player with the ability to coach and mentor less experienced staff and supervise apprentices.
• Flexible, positive attitude, and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Attention to detail and quality of work.
• Drive for self-improvement and openness to new ideas.
• Self-motivated with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.

The successful candidate must meet security clearance requirements, including five years of continuous UK residency.
