Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and flexible Mechanical Technician to join the Estates Team. The successful candidate will play a proactive role in achieving departmental and Trust objectives.

The post holder will assist the Estates Directorate in providing a comprehensive and responsive Estate Management Service across all Trust properties.

We are looking for a higher-level, multi-skilled, hands-on maintenance mechanical technician capable of performing a full range of duties related to the core craft trade.

1. Diagnose faults, and carry out repairs and maintenance on building engineering services, plant, and equipment.
2. Perform safe isolations within your specialist craft skill set.
3. Supervise others in fault-finding, repairs, maintenance, and installation of complex plant, equipment, and buildings.
4. Undertake Authorised Person duties.
5. This position is based at Luton and Dunstable Hospital, covering services across the Trust’s Luton and Dunstable sites.
6. The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The post requires participation in the on-call rota for out-of-hours emergency calls, with some weekend and evening work during on-call periods.
