Job summary

Equans is seeking an Assistant Technical Services Manager (Mechanical) to join our team on our contract with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week with a competitive salary and benefits package.

You will support the Technical Services Manager, plan maintenance with Maximo, and liaise with subcontractors to ensure service levels and compliance with HTMs and regulations.

Qualifications

• City and Guild or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Strong verbal, written and numeric skills.
• Proficient with spreadsheet packages and estate/project management systems.
• Ability to manage people and work autonomously in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Knowledge of construction, maintenance and FM services.

Responsibilities

• Directly accountable for day-to-day matters to the Technical Services Manager.
• Deputise for the Technical Services Manager during absences.
• Plan and schedule preventative maintenance using Maximo.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for cost-effective service.
• Ensure response times and repairs meet targets and are done diligently.
• Review quality of work by staff and contractors.
• Participate in Estates Team and achieve AP status in key disciplines.
• Participate in on-call rota and winter maintenance when required.
