Job summary

Boden Group in the West Midlands is seeking an Assistant Technical Services Manager (Mechanical) to support mechanical maintenance across a complex healthcare estate, ensuring safety, compliance and operational performance.

You will lead a multidisciplinary hard services team, plan preventive maintenance using Maximo, supervise staff and contractors, and develop towards Authorised Person responsibilities across mechanical disciplines.

Qualifications

• A City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
• Strong knowledge of technical estates, building maintenance and facilities management services.
• The ability to manage people, delegate effectively and work on your own initiative.
• Strong organisational and communication skills for multidisciplinary environments.
• Computer literacy covering spreadsheets, estates management systems, Outlook and Word.
• A driving licence to support on-call requirements across the estate.

Responsibilities

• Plan preventative maintenance for buildings, plant and equipment using Maximo.
• Deputise for the Technical Services Manager and support day-to-day service delivery.
• Manage staff and contractors, monitoring response times and the quality of completed works.
• Support budget control, supplier negotiations and cost-effective maintenance delivery.
• Review contractor RAMS and inspect working practices, quality and safety.
• Work towards Authorised Person status across relevant mechanical disciplines, including pressure systems and ventilation.
