Job summary

Equans is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team servicing Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals. This full-time role (40 hours/week) offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous leave and wellbeing support.

You will work on ventilation, pumps, boilers, medical gases, heating systems, and domestic water services, performing diagnostics, fault finding, and planned maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of complex mechanical systems including ventilation, pumps, boilers, and water systems.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs in accordance with standards and procedures.
• Good communication with wards/departments to minimise disruption during works.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repair on mechanical systems across the hospital site.
• Respond to reactive jobs with diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks per programme and training.
• Take part in on-call rota as required.
• Liaise with Wards and Departments to minimise disruption during works.
