Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley seeks a Project Design Engineer - Mechanical to lead the design of water and wastewater projects from outline to detailed design, coordinating civil, electrical and process disciplines and mentoring junior engineers.

You will work within a dynamic, cross‑functional team and benefit from a structured path toward professional chartership, with flexible working from home, office and site as part of a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in mechanical engineering.
• Incorporated member of Engineering Institution.
• Experience in outline and detailed design of water or wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 designer duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of treatment or infrastructure projects from outline to detailed design, through construction and handover.
• Coordinate the project team including civil, electrical, mechanical and process designers, BIM modelers and technical specialists.
• Ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by frameworks and industry specs.
• Undertake design in own discipline and mentor less experienced colleagues.
• Build positive relationships with the client’s project, operational and technical assurance teams.
