Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of water and wastewater infrastructure in the UK. You will work across outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover, coordinating with electrical, civil, geotech and process designers.

You will guide the team from concept through to commissioning, ensuring safe, practical, and compliant solutions while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Chartered or Incorporated member of a relevant professional body is expected.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure through outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to ensure on-programme delivery and quality.
• Develop practical, safe and cost-effective solutions across design stages and beyond.
• Mentor and develop the mechanical engineering team and resources.
