Job summary

Vale Europe is recruiting Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for ongoing roles at the Mond Nickel Refinery in Clydach, Swansea. The role offers a starting salary of £37,893 per annum, rising to £40,121 with training and overtime opportunities.

Employees benefit from enhanced overtime at 1.75x and a 10% annual performance bonus. A long-term, stable position with full site orientation and support from experienced teams is available.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of rotational and mechanical equipment.
• Competent in basic machining operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance.
• Respond to plant breakdowns during working hours and as part of an on-call rota.
• Work with pumps, motors, conveyors, belts and drives.
• Machine basic engineering parts using lathes, milling machines and centre bores.
• Maintain a strong focus on health and safety compliance.
