Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an Industrial Electrician to join The Mond Nickel Refinery in Swansea, part of Vale Europe. The role covers heavy industrial electrical work, fault finding, PLCs, HV/LV switching, and driving systems across a 37.5-hour week with potential shift work.

The ideal candidate has an electrical apprenticeship, essential fault-finding skills, and may bring an HNC and SAP experience. Competitive base pay, overtime, and a yearly bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• BSth edition and C&G 2391 qualifications.
• Ideally five years' relevant industry experience in heavy industry or refining.
• Strong fault-finding knowledge in electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Ability to work shifts and respond to call-ins.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• HNC preferred and SAP experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work with wiring systems including SWA, MICC, T&E and conduit.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in an industrial environment.
• Work with AC and DC drives, servos and motors.
• Undertake PLC fault finding.
• Carry out HV and LV isolation and switching.
• Work with pressure, flow and temperature loops.
• Install and maintain single and three-phase wiring systems.
• Work with various motor starter methods and associated circuits.

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an Industrial Electrician to join the team at The Mond Nickel Refinery in Swansea, one of the world's leading nickel refineries owned and operated by Vale Europe.

Key Duties

• Work with wiring systems including SWA, MICC, T&E and conduit.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in an industrial environment.
• Work with AC and DC drives, servos and motors.
• Undertake PLC fault finding.
• Carry out HV and LV isolation and switching.
• Work with pressure, flow and temperature loops.
• Install and maintain single and three-phase wiring systems.
• Work with various motor starter methods and associated circuits.

Requirements

• Recognised apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.
• BSth edition and C&G 2391.
• Ideally five years' relevant industry experience, preferably within heavy industry or refining.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Strong electrical fault-finding knowledge is essential.
• Ability to work shifts and respond to call-ins when required.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to safe working practices and environmental standards.
• Preferred: HNC qualification and experience using maintenance systems such as SAP.
