Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for Vale Europe at the Mond Nickel Refinery in Clydach, Swansea. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday with an on-call rota and an ongoing contract.

Starting salary is 37,893 per annum, rising to 40,121 after training, with overtime paid at 1.75x and a 10% annual performance bonus. Required: an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, experience in heavy industry, and CCNSG Site Safety Passport.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in heavy industry or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of rotational and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance.
• Respond to plant breakdowns and participate in on-call rota.
• Operate pumps, motors, conveyors, belts and drives.
• Machine basic engineering parts using lathes and milling machines.
• Maintain health and safety compliance.
