Job summary

Gps Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our Barnsley site. You will perform maintenance and repairs on production plant, execute PPM, and troubleshoot to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires a minimum of 4 years’ industrial experience and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), with a 4-shift rota. You will collaborate with on-site contractors and remote service engineers, and mentor apprentices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ industrial experience and NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Able to work a 4 shift rota.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on production plant and equipment.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime.
• Communicate with on-site contractors and remote service engineers.
• Diagnose and resolve machine breakdowns swiftly and effectively.
• Fault find on mechanical systems (gearboxes, etc.).
• Understand pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
• Maintain records and reports within the CMMS system.
• Manage and monitor stock levels of critical parts and equipment.
• Mentor apprentices.
