Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in Barnsley to join a busy manufacturing site. The role requires diagnosing, repairing, and preventing equipment failures, with a 4-on/4-off shift pattern (days and nights). A strong apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering are preferred.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, manage parts via the maintenance system, and drive preventive maintenance to keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer role within manufacturing.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet safety standards.
• Accurate and timely reporting of maintenance activities.
• Completed an apprenticeship as a Maintenance Engineer.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) or City & Guilds / HNC.

Responsibilities

• Identify failure modes of plant equipment and return it to operation safely and quickly.
• Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns.
• Collaborate with day teams to resolve long-term engineering issues.
• Locate spare parts using the maintenance management system and manage spares.
