Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a Wastewater Maintenance Technician to join a dedicated team ensuring reliability of water recycling assets. You will perform general repairs, investigations, and scheduled maintenance to protect the environment and communities served.

The role requires NVQ level 2/3 (mechanical/engineering) or equivalent, plus a full UK driving licence. 37 hours, five days with some weekends, in Dunstable/Luton area. 26 days leave and strong benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience with mechanical/electrical maintenance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance on water recycling assets.
• Investigate and rectify faults and carry out planned maintenance.
• Support day-to-day operation of mechanical assets and systems.
• Work with mechanical control and telemetry systems to ensure reliability.

Job description

Starting Basic salary (plus standby & overtime payments): £39,520 for candidates with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)
£35,360 for candidates with NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject)

Clear progression opportunities to earn up to £47,840 Basic with further training and experience

All PPE, tools, and fuel card provided

Permanent Full-time, with flexibility for part-time, 37 hours, 5-day working pattern including some weekends.

This role is not just about doing a job, it has a real purpose; it’s about protecting our environment.

With support from a collaborative team, your mechanical knowledge will enable you to be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water recycling assets – including equipment installed at water treatment works, as well as carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on our mechanical assets Experience working with mechanical control systems, telemetry systems, pumps, gearboxes and general mechanical/electrical plant maintenance would also be advantageous. This role is vital and will have a direct impact on the environment and communities that we serve.

What does it take to be a Wastewater Maintenance Technician?

To be successful in this role, you must have obtained at least an NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification (or equivalent) and/or completed a relevant apprenticeship and hold a full UK driving licence
