Anglian Water Group Ltd. in Southend is hiring a Wastewater Maintenance Technician responsible for repairs, fault investigation and scheduled maintenance to ensure asset reliability across water recycling assets, including treatment works.

With NVQ Level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) or completed apprenticeship and a full UK driving licence, you will join a collaborative team. The role offers permanent, full-time with flexible part-time options and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification or equivalent.
• Completed apprenticeship and hold a full UK driving licence.
• Experience with mechanical control systems and telemetry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and rectify faults on water assets.
• Complete scheduled and preventive maintenance to ensure asset reliability.
• Maintain mechanical assets at water treatment works and related equipment.
• Work on mechanical and electrical plant maintenance as part of the team.

Job description

Starting Basic salary (plus standby & overtime payments): £39,520 for candidates with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject) £35,360 for candidates with NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent in Mechanical/Engineering Subject) Clear progression opportunities to earn up to £47,840 Basic with further training and experience Van, all PPE, tools, and fuel card provided Permanent Full-time, with flexibility for part-time, 37 hours, 5-day working pattern including some weekends. Location: Southend and surrounding areas

Get ready to make a difference and join us as a maintenance technician, responsible for carrying out general repairs, investigating and rectifying faults and completing scheduled maintenance to ensure the reliability of our assets. This role is not just about doing a job, it has a real purpose; it’s about protecting our environment. With support from a collaborative team, your mechanical knowledge will enable you to be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water recycling assets – including equipment installed at water treatment works, as well as carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on our mechanical assets. Experience working with mechanical control systems, telemetry systems, pumps, gearboxes and general mechanical/electrical plant maintenance would also be advantageous. This role is vital and will have a direct impact on the environment and communities that we serve.

What does it take to be a Wastewater Maintenance Technician? To be successful in this role, you must have obtained an NVQ level 2 or 3 (mechanical/engineering) qualification (or equivalent) and/or completed a relevant apprenticeship and hold a full UK driving licence.
