Job summary

Marshalls plc, a leading UK manufacturer of building, roofing and landscaping solutions, seeks a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer for our Mells, Somerset site. You will ensure continuous production, fault find and maintain equipment across the plant, working a dual shift pattern with a 10% shift allowance for the evening slot.

The role offers an attractive salary, overtime and a comprehensive benefits package, with Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical working knowledge with some electrical engineering experience.
• Qualified, apprentice trained and/or time served in a similar position ideally to NVQ level 3
• Experience in mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication and general machining would be an advantage
• Experienced in reactive and planned maintenance of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors (belts, chain, rollers, bearings, gear boxes, motors etc.) and able to read technical drawings is essential
• Team player with attention to detail
• Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and regulatory requirements
• Experience in mechanical fault finding, defect rectification and routine maintenance activities
• Excellent communication skills both oral and written

• Ensure continuous running of production process and facility by fault finding and maintenance, enabling safe and logical downtime reduction
