Job summary

Marshalls plc in Mells, Somerset, is seeking an experienced mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to keep production running and reduce downtime through fault-finding and proactive maintenance. You will work on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and gearboxes, reading drawings and following safety rules.

The role offers a Monday–Friday, 40-hour week with double day shifts (6:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00) and a shift allowance on the later shift, plus an attractive benefits package including

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge with some electrical experience.
• Qualified, apprentice trained or time served in a similar role (NVQ3 ideal).
• Experience in mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication and machining.
• Experience in maintenance of hydraulics and pneumatics, conveyors and gearboxes.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Good communication and teamwork; safety aware.

Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous running of production by fault finding and preventive maintenance.
• Perform reactive and planned maintenance on site.
• Eliminate downtime to keep equipment operating safely.
• Work within health and safety regulations.
