Job summary

PRS is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to oversee mechanical PPMs, reactive maintenance, and general building services for a large site near Temple Station in London. The role offers a competitive salary between £47,000 - £50,000, with clear career progression and strong overtime opportunities.

You'll work a night shift (16:00–02:00) Monday to Thursday, with Fridays off, and a supportive environment focused on staff development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering.
• Level 8 qualification is required or advantageous.
• 5+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer in an office or similar environment.
• Must have a valid driving license.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems.
• Respond promptly to emergency callouts and resolve issues efficiently.
• Maintain and repair HVAC plant, AHUs, FCUs, VAV, VRV systems, and water treatment equipment.
• Engage in general building maintenance tasks including pumps, boilers, drainage and plumbing.
• Conduct fault-finding and repair on key mechanical systems.
• Operate and manage Building Management System (BMS) and Head End Controls.

Location: Temple

Salary: £47,000 - £50,000

Hours: Monday to Thursday (16:00 - 02:00am) & Off Fridays

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily PPM and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems
• Respond promptly to emergency callouts and resolve issues efficiently
• Maintain and repair HVAC plant, AHUs, FCUs, VAV, VRV systems, and water treatment equipment
• Work on general building maintenance tasks as required, including pumps, boilers, drainage, and plumbing
• Conduct fault-finding and repair on key mechanical systems
• Operate and manage BMS (Building Management System) and Head End Controls

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have L8
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and ability to diagnose faults effectively
• 5 years + as a mechanical engineer in an office or similar environment
• Must be willing to learn and have a positive attitude to taking on tasks/learning on the job
• Has excellent fault-finding skills. - Majority of the fault finding will be done at night time
• Has experience in changing parts on FCU e.g. fixing valves, actuators, motors.
• Driving License
