Job summary

R&A Consultants Ltd in East London is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on commercial building services, with a focus on HVAC systems and general plant room equipment.

You will fault-find, service and repair mechanical systems, maintain records, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards, with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm schedule and permanent, full-time contract.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds / NVQ qualification in a Mechanical discipline.
• Proven experience within commercial building services or facilities maintenance.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good knowledge of HVAC and mechanical plant.
• A proactive, reliable, and professional approach to maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance across mechanical building services systems.
• Maintain and fault-find on HVAC systems, pumps, motors, AHUs, FCUs, and general plant room equipment.
• Complete routine inspections, servicing, and repairs to ensure mechanical systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance requests, minimising disruption to site operations.
• Support minor works, system improvements, and general mechanical maintenance across the site.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety and compliance requirements.
